City of Malolos, Bulacan - Home team Bulacan Kuyas did not disappoint its home crowd that packed the Bulacan Capitol Gym last night to watch the pink outfitted squad's debut game on the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Anta Rajah Conference as they beat the visiting Imus Bandera 93-79. The game had the potential of being a cardiac ball game having a close 1st 2 periods until the Kuyas broke lose in the 3rd canto outplaying the Cavitenos 28-13. Bulacan never looked back since.

JR Gonzales lead the Kuyas with 26 points 6 boards 2 assist and a block. Gonzales was waxing hot from the field finishing with 77% field goal percentage including 67% accuracy in the rainbow line. Another key stats that spelled the difference is the Kuya's 59 points output from its starter compared to Imus only 34. The Ligo Sardines backed club also features former PBA star Marlou Aquino who contributed 4 points, a reboud, an assist and a blocked shot all in 7 minutes of playing time. The team is coached by another former cager Ogie Gumatay. The Kuyas will be back in the court on February 3 facing Navotas clutch who also wont their debut game against Muntilupa Cagers.
The game was witnessed by the team patron Bulacan 1st District Represtative Jonathan "Kuya" Alvarado together with his father and Bulacan Governor Willy Alvarado-Sy joined by his vice governor and actor Daniel Fernando. Also in the venue was the league founder senator Manny Pacquiao who was accompanied by his wife Jinkie.
The win made the Bulacan Kuyas one of the early league leaders together with Batangas and Navotas with 1 win a piece. The games are covered and telecast live by ABS-CBN's Sports and Action.
